Premedical/Pre-health advisors provide services for Harvard College students and alumni pursuing health-related fields: human medicine (allopathic medicine or osteopathic medicine), dental medicine, veterinary medicine, nursing, and other health fields such as optometry, pharmacy, podiatry, and physical therapy. Due to specific funding regulations arranged through Harvard College, our office cannot offer Harvard Extension School students premedical and pre-health advising.

MCS premed and pre-health advising schedule:
May 11 – July 30 MCS premed and pre-health advising schedule:
Starting May 11, individual premed and pre-health 30-minute advising appointments are only open to current medical and other health professions school applicants. The MCS premed and pre-health team does this every spring to ensure that current applicants get the time-sensitive advising they need.
If you are not a current applicant, and have an urgent premed/pre-health question, you are welcome to attend a premed/pre-health virtual drop-in (offered until Thursday, May 21), schedule and instructions to join below, or you can email us at premed@fas.harvard.edu. Regular premed/pre-health advising appointments resume in August.
For non-time sensitive questions during the summer, please review the MCS website for more information about the premed/pre-health track and resources, including:
- The Premedical Information for Harvard Students: Timelines, Courses, & Resources (2025-2026) for timelines, course information, and more.
- To learn more about how to explore your interest in healthcare and gain experience (clinical, volunteer, research, etc.), see our Getting Experience page.
- Graduating seniors and alumni looking for gap year opportunities can review our resources at the bottom of the Getting Experience page and view the recording of the latest Gap Year panel for further insight into the range of options available.
- Still looking for summer volunteering opportunities in the Boston Area? Then check out the spreadsheet under Clinical Volunteering > Sample Opportunities at the link above. If you are not in Boston this summer, you may want to consult Volunteer Match/Idealist for more options.
Premed/pre-health drop-ins have ended for the summer and will resume in mid-August.
Weekly Premed/pre-health drop-ins are offered on Wednesdays from 2:00 to 3:00pm ET and on Thursdays from 3:00 to 4:00pm ET throughout the semester. Premed/pre-health drop-ins are 10-minute Zoom drop-in appointments with the MCS premed/pre-health advisors. Click “Drop-In Now” from the advising section in Crimson Careers. First time? See our virtual drop-in instructions.
First-Year Students:
Pre-Health 101 Orientation: For those who were unable to attend our orientations in person, please view the recording of Pre-Health 101 to learn more about being premed or pre-health at Harvard and complete the form linked at the end. Appointment access will be granted on a rolling basis going forward.
