Premedical/Pre-health advisors provide services for Harvard College students and alumni pursuing health-related fields: human medicine (allopathic medicine or osteopathic medicine), dental medicine, veterinary medicine, nursing, and other health fields such as optometry, pharmacy, podiatry, and physical therapy. Due to specific funding regulations arranged through Harvard College, our office cannot offer Harvard Extension School students premedical and pre-health advising.

MCS premed and pre-health advising schedule:
May 19 – July 30 MCS premed and pre-health advising schedule:
July 1-30: Current applicants who need advice in July should first turn to your House/Dudley Community premedical tutors, who remain available during the summer to answer questions related to secondary applications, school list, and other questions about the overall application and plans. If you are a current (2026) applicant and have an urgent question about your application that your Premed Tutors or the AMCAS/other primary application support staffs cannot answer, please email premed@fas.harvard.edu and one of the MCS advisors will get back to you. Regular advising appointments for all students and alumni resume in August.
If you are not a current applicant, and have an urgent premed/pre-health question, you are welcome to attend a premed/pre-health virtual drop-in (offered until Thursday, May 15), schedule and instructions to join below, or you can email us at premed@fas.harvard.edu. Regular premed/pre-health advising appointments resume in August.
For non-time sensitive questions during the summer, please review the MCS website for more information about the premed/pre-health track and resources, including:
- The Premedical Information for Harvard Students: Timelines, Courses, & Resources (2024-2025) for timelines, course information, and more.
- To learn more about how to explore your interest in healthcare and gain experience (clinical, volunteer, research, etc.), see our Getting Experience page.
- Graduating seniors and alumni looking for gap year opportunities can review our resources at the bottom of the Getting Experience page and view the recording of the latest Gap Year panel for further insight into the range of options available.
- Still looking for summer volunteering opportunities in the Boston Area? Then check out the spreadsheet under Clinical Volunteering > Sample Opportunities at the link above. If you are not in Boston this summer, you may want to consult Volunteer Match and Idealist.org for more options.
