Deb Carroll
Interim Director, Mignone Center for Career Success
As the Interim Director, Deb oversees the operations of the Mignone Center in addition to her responsibilities as Senior Associate Director for Employer Relations and Operations.
Deb brings her extensive career services experience to provide leadership and guidance during a transition period at MCS. Deb has been with MCS, formerly the Office of Career Services, since 2002, starting as the Recruiting Program Staff Assistant and serving most recently as the Senior Associate Director for Employer Relations and Operations. She has been instrumental in developing and executing the center’s vision and strategy, maximizing career offerings for Harvard students.

Anthony Arcieri
Anthony Arcieri, Director of Undergraduate Career Advising and Programming; & Architecture, Engineering, Environment Advising
Anthony leads the undergraduate advising and programming team, which counsels students, creates career education programs, and develops employer partnerships. He also serves as a career advisor for undecided students and in the areas of engineering, science, technology, architecture, and the environment. Prior to arriving at Harvard, Anthony spent seven years with The George Washington University Career Center, most recently as Assistant Director for Career Education and Employer Development. Anthony holds a graduate degree in College Counseling and Student Affairs in Higher Education from the University of Delaware, and an undergraduate degree in Political Science and Public Policy from The George Washington University. Anthony is author of the book Majoring in Success: Building Your Career While Still in College, used by high schools and colleges nationwide. He has also authored a (very) limited release cookbook that offers recipes blending different cuisines and flavors.

Christiana serves as a adviser for students interested in exploring the fields of finance, consulting, real estate, and business school. In addition to meeting with students individually, she also conducts a variety of workshops and creates programming related to exploration of these career fields. Prior to Harvard, Christiana was a Career Coach at the University of Texas at Austin working with students in the College of Natural Sciences. Before transitioning to career services, she worked in Human Resources and recruiting in a variety of industries including government, law, and higher education. Christiana holds an MS in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from San Jose State University, and a BA in Psychology from Wheaton College in Norton, MA. In her free time, Christiana enjoys spending time with her family, walking their rescue pup Millie and visiting family and friends in her home state of Maine.

Prior to joining the Harvard Mignone Center for Career Success team, Amy advised both undergraduate and graduate students as a Pre-Law Adviser & Assistant Director of Career Engagement at Boston College. Amy has over ten years of career development experience and has also worked in career services at Stonehill College and Salem State University. Amy holds a BA in psychology with a minor in music from Boston University and an MEd in Higher Education and Student Affairs from Salem State University.
In their free time, Amy and her husband enjoy vegetarian cooking, especially making homemade pastas and hosting afternoon tea. When they aren’t trying new recipes, they can be found attending Boston Symphony Orchestra concerts and Broadway in Boston musicals, gardening, or relaxing with their two cats Catticus Finch and Scout.

Prior to joining the Mignone Center for Career Success (MCS), Katie was an adviser to Liberal Arts and Undecided students at Merrimack College for 6 years, and, recently, the Director of Special Programs surrounding internships and co-ops. Additionally, she worked at MCS from 2009 to 2016, and is excited to meet and serve Harvard undergraduates (again). Katie holds an MAT in Social Science Education from the University of South Florida, and a BS in Family & Child Sciences from Florida State University. Her personal interests include social history, true crime, tapas, and the ACC.

She also develops and delivers related career education programs, often collaborating with Harvard international centers, student groups, and alumni. Prior to this role, Loredana oversaw several international fellowships and advised students interested in global work. She began her Harvard career as a CASE Fellow in the Harvard Alumni Affairs & Development office. Previously, Loredana worked in various roles including International Sales and Marketing Manager and Training and Development Manager at Abbott Laboratories. She graduated from Rutgers University with a BA in Communications and French. She speaks several languages, loves to travel, and enjoys mentoring international individuals.

Nicole advises students who are interested in the fields of government, politics, law, and service. Previously, Nicole served as a Fellow at the Mignone Center for Career Success and the Bureau of Study Counsel through the Harvard Administrative Fellowship Program. Prior to her time at Harvard, Nicole worked at Rosie’s Place, a shelter for poor and homeless women, for more than six years. During this time, Nicole helped to grow the Women’s Education Center, while also developing programming, advising students, and managing volunteers. Nicole holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and an MA in South Asian Area Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London. Outside of work, Nicole enjoys being a part of MITHAS, an organization dedicated to the preservation of South Asian arts, volunteering, and traveling.

Meaghan advises students who are interested in the fields of technology, startups, data, and life and physical sciences. Prior to joining the Mignone Center for Career Success team, Meaghan advised students and alumni pursuing careers in medical, dental and other health professions in her role as the Senior Pre-Health Advisor at MIT. Meaghan has over ten years of experience in higher education and has also worked in advising and academic coaching at Northeastern University and Suffolk University. Meaghan holds an M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration from Suffolk University and a B.A. in English Literature from Providence College. She is also a NCDA Certified Career Services Provider (CCSP).
Raised in Cambridge, Meaghan has many favorite places, but can most often be found walking around Fresh Pond with her family and their Scottie, Fergus. Other hobbies include joining friends in exploring new fine dining during restaurant week in Boston and traveling to visit friends across the US. Her favorite place to visit is Lake Tahoe.

Caroline joined the Mignone Center for Career Success in fall 2019. Prior to her role, Caroline served as the Director for Career and Academic Development at Fisher College in Boston and previously worked as the Acting Director of Student Services for Harvard Griffin GSAS, seeing firsthand the many unique and complex challenges graduate students navigate throughout their professional journeys. Caroline completed her undergraduate degree in English and Sociology from Providence College, holds a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration from Boston University, and is pursuing her Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Northeastern University.

Laura specializes in academic career advising and works with Harvard Griffin GSAS PhD and master’s students, Harvard College students, and alumni. Laura has been advising GSAS and College students & alums for >20 years. She holds a PhD in neuroscience from Yale University and completed post-doctoral research at the University of Pennsylvania. Interim Assistant Director, Graduate Career Services
Jeff Steiner received his PhD from the Organizational Behavior program at Harvard Business School and is a Lecturer at the Harvard Extension School. His research and teaching interests lie at the intersection of well-being and work. At the individual level, Jeff studies how people think about what it means to live a good life, and specifically how they view the role of their work and career in pursuing it. In addition, Jeff studies managerial and organizational practices aimed at safeguarding and supporting employee mental health. Jeff is motivated by the belief that improving the modern experience of work is imperative to foster greater well-being across societies.
Jeff was formerly a Talent Development Director at Morgan Stanley, as well as a Research Associate to Professor Teresa Amabile at Harvard Business School. He has studied, worked, and volunteered internationally, galvanizing his interest in studying work and well-being across vastly different contexts. Jeff earned his B.B.A. in Management and Psychology from the University of Miami.

Shoshana Mavor
Assistant Director, Harvard Extension School Career Services
Shoshana joined the Mignone Center for Career Success in April 2015 and brings over ten years of experience in employer relationship management and event coordination in non-profit, corporate and higher education settings. Shoshana develops, maintains and enhances employer relationships across industries to broaden the knowledge and career choices for students and alumni and manages all aspects of career event planning and resources for Harvard Extension School including career webinars, career fairs, and employer information sessions. Shoshana also provides career advising to Harvard Extension School students and alumni. Amanda advises admitted degree students and alumni of the Harvard University Extension School (HES) and delivers related career programming. She has worked for multiple universities and degree programs for a wide range of clients, and now specializes in coaching experienced professionals who are continuing their education.
Directly prior to her role with the Mignone Center for Career Success/Harvard Extension School, Amanda worked at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), managing comprehensive career services for two multidisciplinary Master’s programs. Her experience in career counseling, employer engagement, and event delivery has also included work at the Harvard Kennedy School, MIT’s main career services office, Boston University’s School of Management and JVS Boston. Amanda holds a Master of Education in Counseling from Boston University and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Brown University.
Amanda grew up in Cambridge and enjoys contributing to the community, including volunteer work with The Loop Lab, a Harvard alumni-founded social enterprise dedicated to training womxn and people of color for jobs in AV and media arts fields, and Food for Free. If you see Amanda walking to work while staring at her phone, she’s probably reading a book.

Oona Ceder
Director of Premedical and Health Career Advising and Associate Director of Career Services
Oona Ceder advises students and alumni of Harvard College and GSAS who are interested in pursuing a career in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or another health profession. She also advises students and alumni interested in public and global health. Born and raised in Göteborg, Sweden, Oona attended Harvard College as an international student and graduated in 1990 (she concentrated in Government and is a proud alum of Currier House – Go Quad!). Her PhD (Stanford, 2000) is in Political Science, and she taught Political Science, Women’s and Critical Gender Studies, and Ethnic Studies at the University of California, San Diego before returning to Harvard in 2000, where she served for six years as the Resident Dean of Eliot House and a Lecturer in Social Studies. She joined the Mignone Center for Career Success in 2010, where she continues to advise and mentor Harvard students and alumni as they work to realize their academic and professional goals.

Advisor, Premedical and Health Careers
Chris joined the Harvard community 20 years ago for graduate training in history after receiving his B.A. with majors in History, Classical Civilizations, and Philosophy from Loyola University Chicago. At Harvard he developed a passion for advising students serving as the Resident Dean of Dudley House as well as an Interim Dean at both Winthrop and the Dudley Community. Chris completed pre-med requirements after developing an interest in medicine and is working on two forthcoming articles (on exercise physiology and the predictive value of fracture patterns in identifying non accidental trauma in pediatric patients). He continues to serve as a Resident Tutor along with his two rescue cats, T-Bone and Mr. Socks. He is an avid cyclist, backpacker (currently section hiking the Long Trail), vegan baker, and coffee roaster.

Rob advises students and alumni of Harvard College and GSAS who are interested in pursuing a career in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or other health professions. Rob is a local, originally from Quincy, MA. He earned his B.A. in English at Bridgewater State University before completing his M.Ed. in the Administration of Higher Education at Suffolk University. Rob has focused his career on holistic student support, working in residential life for six years prior to his most recent roles as a PreHealth Advisor, and then Assistant Director of PreMed and PreHealth Advising at Northeastern University. Rob is passionate about breaking down the myths and stigmas that exist in health professions application processes. Outside of work, Rob spends time pursuing his interests in gaming, writing, and photography.

Associate Director, Recruiting and Employer Engagement
Marissa is a Harvard College alumna from the class of 2008 and has been an integral part of the Recruiting and Employer Engagement team since she was a sophomore student worker. Marissa now brings her energy, enthusiasm, and understanding of the Harvard student experience to her role as Associate Director. One of Marissa’s primary responsibilities is overseeing MCS Recruiting and Employer Engagement, where she and her team work with 200 employers and over 2,000 students each year, facilitating campus recruiting for full-time and summer internship opportunities. Marissa advises students interested in entertainment, media, sports, marketing, and advertising. She has attended the Harvardwood 101 entertainment bootcamp several times in LA and virtually and also organizes the Theatre, Media, and Entertainment Meet-Up each year. At Harvard College, Marissa lived in Dunster House, studied Economics and was active in Harvard Model United Nations (HNMUN) and the Catholic Student Association. Kara Blackwell
Technology Platforms Associate
As the Technology Platforms Associate, Kara uses her analytical skills to manage the Mignone Center for Career Success Manager platform and website in addition to being the primary liaison with the office’s online tool vendors. Prior to Harvard, Kara worked as an Operations and Data Coordinator for Boston Plan for Excellence, an education non-profit organization, where she provided innovative ideas and analytical intelligence towards their clinical teacher preparation programming. Kara is a Boston native and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Science from Clark University with her focus surrounding Earth System Science and Environmental Policy. In her free time she enjoys anything involving the arts, checking things off her bucket list and planning for her next vacation getaway.
Payden Carter
Staff Assistant, Client, Information, and Data Services
As a Staff Assistant with the Mignone Center for Career Success (MCS), Payden assists the office with administrative tasks. He enjoys working with advisors and students during the many advising meetings and events that the office hosts. Payden holds a B.A. in Biblical and Theological Studies, along with a M.A. in Higher Education and Student Development from Wheaton College, IL. Prior to joining MCS Payden worked in Accessibility Services at Harvard and Wheaton College. He also has worked in residence life at Nichols College and was a middle school teacher in Chicago. Outside of work, Payden enjoys cooking, playing with his golden retriever Jay, along with skiing and ultimate frisbee with his wife Natalie.
Thomas Oppong
Marketing, Branding, and Communications Coordinator
Thomas finds great joy in serving people. At the Mignone Center for Career Success, he draws from his passion to support the advising team and help students find answers. A jack of all trades, he strives to learn new skills to better solve problems. Born and raised in Ghana, Thomas read History, Geography, and Resource Development at the University of Ghana in 2014. His quest for knowledge and value for lifelong learning led him to China in 2016, where he trained as a Civil Engineer for 4years.
A husband and father of one, he has worked as a freelance creative designer, broadcast journalist, high school teacher, and co-founded a nonprofit in Ghana for providing quality education among rural children. Thomas believes in doing whatever his hands find to do with all his might.
Gregg Rosenblum
Assistant Director, IT and Content Resources
Gregg is the office’s Assistant Director of IT and Content Resources. He has an MFA in Creative Writing, and his young adult science-fiction trilogy, Revolution 19, was published by HarperCollins. Prior to joining the Mignone Center for Career Success, he served as managing editor of the literary journal Ploughshares, editorial intern at The Atlantic, and in what seems like a past life, analyst at an investment bank in San Francisco.
Xavier Suarez

Joining the team in 2023, Xavier works to support events at MCS and the Employer Engagement Team. Xavier graduated from Tufts University in 2018 with a degree in Psychology and has a passion for helping people. Prior to Harvard, Xavier held positions at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Catalyst Life Sciences helping connect people to needed resources. Outside of work, he enjoys rock climbing, cooking with friends and dancing to different styles of music.

Prior to working in Harvard, Maria worked as an elementary school teacher. Her past experiences include working in early childhood education and health care. Maria holds a B.A. in American Studies and Teaching & Learning Studies from Wellesley College and a M.Ed. in Learning & Technology from Western Governor’s University. In her free time, Maria enjoys spending time with her family and taking care of her cats :)
