In what ways has Harvard Extension School impacted your career and long-term professional goals?
It tremendously helped me with my previous job at TikTok. For the past 4 years, I worked in different functions at TikTok, developing their content strategy, diversifying TikTok’s local content ecosystem, and managing some of the most successful creators on the platform as a partnerships manager for the DACH (German-speaking) market.
What advice do you have for Harvard HES students, now that you have graduated?
Take your time and don’t stress yourself. When I first started the program, I tried to finish it as quickly as possible while working full-time at TikTok and taking three to four classes. The initial courses were challenging, not only because I had to adapt to online classes and exams, but also because the teaching, grading, and studying methods were completely new to me as I’m based in Germany. I failed one of my first classes, which I actually enjoyed, due to a failed presentation and a missed deadline. However, I didn’t let the failure discourage me and I kept up my motivation. Once I got used to the new system, I truly enjoyed my time at HES and would recommend it to anyone!
