Spring Coffee Chats/Office Hours

Employers: Spring is a great time to visit campus for coffee chats & office hours! Leverage alumni connections and meet with students in a more casual environment for general career chats, share more about your organization, and offer resume reviews.

Scheduling/Getting Started:

MCS offers a built-in scheduling tool so all you need to do is submit your preferred date, time, and location. We recommend scheduling 2-3 hours total. During this time period, students reserve a 15-30 minute time slot to meet with your organization’s representative(s). Employers can choose to either take RSVP directly through our database or provide their own external registration link. Either type of event should be submitted through our registration form.

Tips for hosting coffee chats:

• We recommend arriving to your selected cafe 15-30 min ahead of your first chat to secure a table.
• Gift cards are an easy way to offer students a perk without cutting into the chat time. Some employers opt to buy gift cards ahead of time to offer to students as they meet with them. 
• Wearing a branded t-shirt or having a small sign on the table makes it easier for students to locate your representatives.
• Maximize your time on campus by meeting with small groups of 2-3 students.
