What advice do you have for Harvard GSAS students, now that you are graduating?
Applies mostly to PhD students: Get a hobby (e.g., dance or music). By definition, the doctor of philosophy requires asking questions that might not have a simple/straightforward answer, which leads to uncertainty about the value of the question or the possibility of deriving an answer. Dealing with uncertainty on a daily basis without having an orthogonal creative outlet is difficult for humans (I think). So try to find time to relax. Also, don’t be ashamed to rely on your network of family and friends.
