The Office of the Vice Provost for Advances in Learning at Harvard (VPAL) is seeking qualified individuals to act as forum moderators for our Harvard Online courses, hosted on edX.org. This is a temporary, part-time role, around 5-10 hours per week.
Moderators are responsible for the following in one or more online courses:
Responsibilities:
- Moderate course discussion forums
- Answer questions from learners
- Possibly grade capstone projects for specific courses
- Alert the course team to any issues within the course.
- Collaborate with the team to update course content as needed.
Subjects range in the topic so students from all disciplines are welcome. We are particularly in need of forum moderators with a background/experience in Health Care Policy, Public Health, Data Science, and STEM.
Compensation is $22-$27 per hour, dependent on experience. Work will be conducted remotely. Interested applicants should check out our current offering at https://www.edx.org/school/harvardx.
To apply, please upload your resume and a brief statement indicating what subject matter you are interested in, how you heard about it, and why you are qualified as one document.
Please note that start and end dates are dependent on individual courses. Applicants will be reviewed on a rolling basis, so we encourage you to apply even if it is past the start date. Positions have potential for extension past the initial end date.
All applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and have a US address.
If you do not see a course that matches your skillset but are interested in working with us in the future, you are welcome to apply and we will contact you if you are a fit for a different course.
