Summary:
Imagine… 2 weeks after the birth of your child you realize they aren’t meeting critical developmental milestones and after months of doctor’s appointments you are told your baby has a rare neurological disease that would impact how they would live their lives.

We are seeking a highly motivated summer intern to join the growing, dynamic multidisciplinary Analytical Development – Chemistry team. The person will contribute to the characterization of AAV capsid proteins and lentiviral vectors using separations and other biophysical techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Work with PhD Scientist to design, perform experiment and analyze results
- Discuss with internal or external expert to optimize experimental conditions
- Perform sample preparation and analysis using HPLC/UPLC or LC-MS
- Perform data analysis using different software
- Contributes to technical report and summaries with guidance
- Complies with all company safety, training, and quality regulations (e.g. GLP/GMP requirements, etc.) and procedures
- May be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned from manager
Requirements:
Candidate must be able to work independently with direction, as well as in collaborative teams. Interns must also be able to carry out standard operating procedures involving basic laboratory techniques, calculations, materials measurement, operation of laboratory equipment and record keeping. Interns can be responsible for testing data records, notebooks and computerized data storage.
Qualifications:
- Student currently enrolled in classes leading to an accredited undergraduate or Masters/PhD degree in a related Biochemistry, Chemistry, Mass spectrometry, or Science discipline.
- Student must have hands on experience using HPLC/UPLC and software.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work and maintain positive relationship with team members.
- Willingness to learn, be mentored, and improve.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills are required.
- Accuracy and attention to detail is required in performing all functions of this position.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
The level of this position will be based on the final candidate’s qualifications.
