Computational Research Associate
Full-time post-Baccalaureate opportunity in computational aspects of frontier structural biology
Laboratory of Stephen Harrison
Harvard Medical School
We seek an Associate to assist in computational tasks related to cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo-EM) and tomography (cryo-ET), including maintaining and developing code for automated image-processing pipelines. The specifics may include working out procedures that can minimize manual user intervention, potentially incorporating or developing machine learning based approaches. Depending on background and interests, the Associate might participate directly in one or more on-going research projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in biology, computer science or a related field. Strong computational skills, including scientific Python. Research experience in developing scientific code, ideally in related areas, highly desirable. Experience in computational biology, structural biology or biophysics (X-ray crystallography, cryoEM, etc) a bonus. Familiarity with Linux operating systems and use of bash beneficial.
Start date: any time between February 1 and September 1, 2024.
