What advice do you have for Harvard GSAS students, now that you are graduating?
Try to diversify your work experience while still in grad school. I found as I pursued parallel job searches in and out of academia that I would have benefited from additional experiences while in school that demonstrated my versatility and professionalism beyond the obvious PhD skill set. My pre-PhD employment felt like ancient history by the time I finished, and it would have been nice to not have to reach for that as the most recent example of how I could work effectively in an office/team setting.
