Zhiyao Wang – ALM, Finance

Where will you be living next year, and what will you be doing?
Shanghai, China

What will you be doing?
Still undecided yet. One of the reasons why I may have a change as next step is my current company just got acquired by an S&P500 company. As a current management team member, I need to complete the post-acquisition integration as a first step, but the integration project will be completed by end of this year, so I have some potential choices next year:
1. perhaps will join an S&P500 company in China as an executive management member.
2. may create a new biotech company.
3. may move to the U.S. to seek a new job.

What advice do you have for Harvard HES students, now that you have graduated?
I enjoyed the years with HES a lot. HES has plenty of interesting and valuable course choices. Courses are well structured, which fits students who have already got some working experience. For me, what I learnt in HES helps my day to day business, and positively influenced my routine business operation decisions. I’d advise students who want to improve their career performance to take systematic courses with HES, and a degree program obviously helps to achieve this goal.

In what ways has your Harvard Extension degree impacted your career?
My degree program helped me to improve my finance acumen and communication skills at work.
