Carlo Capua – ALM, International Relations

Where will you be living next year, and what will you be doing?
Fort Worth, TX

What will you be doing?
I am the Deputy Chief of Staff for our Mayor and City Council, and will be starting our first (ever) Office of Global Affairs. Fort Worth is the largest city in the country without one, but with my HES degree, I’m ready to change that!

What advice do you have for Harvard HES students, now that you have graduated?
There was one specific moment when I wanted to give up. Expect it. When you’re not there full time and living on campus, it’s easier to feel like you have less invested. But just try to make it through the next paper, quiz, or reading. With each small victory, you’ll realize you’re capable of more than you think.

In what ways has your Harvard Extension degree impacted your career?
Having this degree has given my supervisors and colleagues the confidence that I’m capable of handling large projects and challenges. I’m also about to ask for a raise. 🙂
