In what ways has HES impacted your career and long-term professional goals?
HES and Harvard gave me fantastic opportunities:
- Data science skills: I built up my data science and coding skills from zero during my HES master’s program.
- Own startup: Harvard Innovation Labs helped me build my startup which I got to pitch to media mogul Kevin O’Leary at the SharkTank x Harvard event in Harvard Business School’s Klarman Hall, as well as at the TechCrunch Disrupt conference in San Francisco.
- Award-winning research: I wrote my master’s capstone project with NASA. This capstone became widely successful: we won the outstanding capstone award, presented 1) at the Harvard “AI for Good” event at the Harvard Media Studio broadcasted live, 2) at the Harvard Climate Action Week, 3) at the United Nations “AI for Good” conference in Geneva, Switzerland. We also got to show our work to Princess Beatrice of Britain!
What advice do you have for HES students now that you have graduated?
Harvard has a mind-blowing array and variety of opportunities. Research these opportunities in advance, know what is important to you, so that you can hit the ground running once you are admitted.
