In what ways has Harvard Extension School impacted your career and long-term professional goals?
Harvard Extension School has enabled me to pursue my personal academic interest in biology through a flexible and remote learning environment. Prior to enrolling, I had no formal education in the life sciences, though I had a strong personal interest in the subject. HES provided the structure and accessibility I needed to engage in rigorous study. As I hope to incorporate biology into my future career, gaining a solid academic foundation in this field has been an invaluable step forward.
What advice do you have for HES students now that you have graduated?
My advice to current and future Harvard Extension School students is to stay open-minded and approach your studies with an academic mindset—especially when reading and writing papers and writing your thesis. Take the time to deeply engage with the material and participate actively in class discussions; it’s through these exchanges that ideas are tested and understanding is deepened. Lastly, time management is key. The flexibility of HES is a great asset, but it requires discipline to stay on track and make the most of your learning experience.
