In what ways has HES impacted your career and long-term professional goals?
I entered the HES program in mid-life. It allowed me to explore a deep interest in religion and philosophy that had (at least seemingly) nothing to do with my long-term career as a biologist. I have not, at this point, changed careers, but HES helped me to clarify my own goals and make an important transition within my ongoing career.
What advice do you have for HES students now that you have graduated?
Learning for its own sake is a wonderful thing. If you have the opportunity to really explore something new, even if it is not obviously practical, take advantage of it!
