In what ways has Harvard Extension School impacted your career and long-term professional goals?
HES offered real-time skills, knowledge, training and practice that no other school or program offers to its students. I didn’t have to wait a year, two, three or four to implement what I was learning. I was using all that I was learning in real-time which meant that my teams, peers, organizations and people I served also benefited from my time at Harvard. As someone who works rural immigrant communities, this type of education helped me provide all that Harvard offers to disadvantaged communities like mine. HES accelerated my career, my community and the organizations I’m a part of.
I suggest that students attempt to live on campus for summer term. This experience alone helped me to understand and connect with my classmates and create life-long professional and personal bonds for my loved ones and I. Also, investing the time and money to live on campus allows others to see and celebrate all the amazing people and programs HES has to offer lifelong global learners like me.
