In what ways has HES impacted your career and long-term professional goals?
It opened so many doors for me. I had finished my math undergrad right before the pandemic and was having difficulty breaking into the work I wanted to do. After a semester at HES, I landed an internship at a nuclear fusion startup where I got to work on some incredible problems, which then lead to a NASA internship, and now my current job in drug discovery. The network of people at Harvard and the opportunity to push boundaries in my skillsets and work has been wonderful.
What advice do you have for HES students now that you have graduated?
The courses you take are only half of what this degree can offer. Get as involved as you can — use the career resources, meet with your fellow students, ask to join research groups if you have the time. Use project based courses to tackle projects that you really want to see through. Harvard is here to help you succeed and you shouldn’t hesitate to make use of that.
