In what ways has Harvard Extension School impacted your career and long-term professional goals?
I made a big change in my career when I decided to pursue an ALM in Creative Writing and Literature. The classes, instructors, and classmates at HES were very instrumental in getting me into a position where I can write for a living. The style of teaching, the workshops, the on campus requirement, the diversity of writing classes made me a very strong writer and taught me how to hone my craft.
What advice do you have for HES students now that you have graduated?
I would tell you to take full advantage of being a Harvard student. Harvard does a wonderful job of making you feel like you belong and those resources from writing lab access, library access, alumni networks, and on campus access will help you! I was able to connect with fellow veterans though HESVSS and the Harvard Veterans Alumni Organization.
