What advice do you have for Harvard undergraduates, now that you’ve graduated?T
Try everything that genuinely excites you, especially the things that feel unfamiliar or a little scary. Join that club, take that odd-sounding class, start that project, reach out to the professor whose work intimidates you. Harvard is full of people and ideas you may never encounter again in quite the same way, so make the most of the playground. One thing I can’t recommend enough: study abroad. Getting outside the Harvard bubble and immersing yourself in a different country, culture, or language will challenge your assumptions and expand your worldview in ways no textbook ever could. It’s one of the rare chances you’ll have to reset your rhythms and gain fresh perspective — don’t skip it. And finally, don’t be afraid to slow down. Some of the most meaningful growth comes in the unplanned moments: late-night conversations, walks by the river, spontaneous detours. Success here isn’t about packing your resume, it’s about figuring out what matters to you, and having the courage to follow that path, even when it’s not the obvious one.
