In what ways has HES impacted your career and long-term professional goals?
Over the course of earning my Harvard ALM in Sustainability, I was able to clearly develop a north star for my career; not only how to pivot from working as a designer to working in sustainability, but in terms of what that meant for myself and my goals. I started the program aiming to get a graduate certificate and ended up getting a second certificate and a master’s degree – something I never thought I would do! The HES program gave me the breadth and depth of experience to envision my own ideal career path, and gave me the confidence in my own expertise to pursue it.
What advice do you have for HES students now that you have graduated?
You get out of this program what you put into it. Participate in events, join clubs, meet with your fellow classmates and professors. They are your peers but they are also your support network. HES fosters a global classroom of diverse, driven, intelligent people – use it to its full potential! Enjoy your time at Harvard and let the path take you where you’re meant to go.
