Unpaid remote internship or volunteer opportunity, 5-30 (flexible) hours per week and flexible start and end dates.

Join our team of mission-driven young people from all around the United States to help amplify youth civic engagement and participate in activism on many progressive/social justice issues including climate change, racial justice, reproductive rights, and ending gun violence, and combating voter suppression in the United States. 

Benefits: Eligible to receive community service hours or course credit (if you coordinate with your school), work in teams with other young people to participate in activism and learn civics, bolster your resume, earn valuable letters of recommendation, flexible hours per week, apply anytime, eligible to win awards and prizes including the President’s Volunteer Service Award, broaden your networking scope, and hear from world renowned speakers.

Key Curriculum: Work on teams to participate in grassroots activism, advocacy on civic and social justice issues you care about and voter registration/turnout efforts while doing research to become better educated and aware about these topics. 
Skills Developed: Communication, Collaboration, Leadership, Critical Thinking, Writing, and more.
Hours Per Week: You choose between 5 and 30+ hours.
End Date: Flexible

More Internship Details: This is a great opportunity for those looking to impact change in their community, refine their activist efforts, strengthen democracy in the United States, and meet other like-minded young people! Interns will collaborate on a variety of tasks, communicate regularly, and meet virtually on a weekly basis. This is a collaborative internship where interns will develop their democratic competency. Interns participate in civic actions, organize voter registration and turnout projects in their communities, perform targeted outreach, engage in advocacy and activism, find and participate in volunteer opportunities together, attend the TurnUp Speaker Series, as well as do civic and activism related research and writing. Most importantly, they will work together to advocate for issues important to young people, fight voter suppression and boost youth voter turnout in the United States. Upon completion, interns are prepared to go forward being civically responsible and engaged activists.

About TurnUp (www.turnup.us): We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to making the world more just, fair, and equitable for all by increasing youth civic engagement and activism to strengthen our democracy. We believe that everyone should be able to access their civic and activist potential. TurnUp played a significant role in the historic 2020 and 2022 youth voter turnout by reaching over 60 million young voters online, texting 10 million young voters, helping to register 200,000 young voters and completing 20,000 hours of get out the vote volunteering.
