Spend 9 weeks in London conducting mentored research on advancing the safety and governance of frontier AI systems with experts from organisations such as Google DeepMind, MIT, GovAI, UK AISI, SecureBio, Redwood Research, and FAR AI. Fellows receive a £6,000–£8,000 stipend, meals, and support for travel from the US, accommodation, and compute.
Fellows work full-time on independent or collaborative research projects, guided by experienced mentors and supported by research management. The program includes workshops, Q&A sessions with domain experts, and co-working at the London Initiative for Safe AI (LISA) alongside leading researchers.

Now in its seventh cohort, Pivotal has helped early-career researchers and professionals produce impactful work on the safety and governance of advanced AI systems. Alumni have joined organisations such as GovAI, UK AISI, Google DeepMind, IAPS, and the Cooperative AI Foundation.
In the most recent cohort, 70% of fellows who applied for post-program extensions received funding to continue their projects for up to 6 months.
