The Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) is an intergovernmental agency which operates under the framework of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). It facilitates co-operation among countries with advanced nuclear technology infrastructures to seek excellence in nuclear safety, technology, science, related environmental and economic matters and law.
The NEA Division of Nuclear Technology Development and Economics (NEA NTE) provides the Secretariat for and implements the programme of work of the Committee for Technical and Economic Studies on Nuclear Energy Development and the Fuel Cycle (NDC).
NEA NTE is offering an internship starting in Spring 2026 to support NEA studies related to assessing the competitiveness of nuclear energy in today’s energy markets. Key priorities include modeling of the role of nuclear energy towards meeting long-term climate objectives through energy system-costs studies, reviewing emerging financing frameworks for nuclear new build and investigating the primary cost drivers for new nuclear power plants, with special emphasis on project management practices and logistical considerations.
This internship provides a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful studies that shape the future of nuclear energy in a rapidly evolving energy landscape.
Key tasks include:
- Assisting the Senior Economic Advisor and the Chief of Staff of the NTE division with the preparation of studies in the areas of financing nuclear new build, the role of nuclear in a low carbon setting, or nuclear construction, including project management and logistics.
- This may include tasks in statistical analysis, preparation of graphs, the drafting or reviewing of small texts and the preparation of events.
Additional Information:
- The internship duration is between 4 and 6 months (renewable up to a total of twelve months) with a EUR 1,000 stipend per month.
