“The Tics, OCD, and Related Disorders Research Program in the Department of Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in NYC is looking to fill a full-time Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) position. The Tics, OCD, and Related Disorders Research Program, directed by Dr. Dorothy Grice, seeks to understand the genetic, neural, cognitive, and environmental factors contributing to symptoms of these conditions and use this information to improve treatments. We are looking for a highly responsible, organized and motivated individual who is interested in continuing in a medical, neuroscience, clinical psychology, clinical genetics or related research career. The CRC would be primarily assisting with a multisite study of OCD in Black Americans and a clinical trial examining neural and computational mechanisms of OCD symptoms and response to cognitive-behavioral treatment. Areas of responsibility would include 1) overall study management, such as maintaining institutional compliance (IRB) and adhering to regulatory guidelines, 2) core duties related various aspects of study protocols including participant recruitment, screening, scheduling and performing research-based clinical assessments, 3) data collection, data entry and data management for multi-site genetic studies and clinical trials, 4) collection of neural data via electroencephalogram (EEG) and of biomaterial for genetic analyses, 5) data processing and analysis (after training), 6) interacting with study participants, and 7) assistance with program-related administrative tasks, grant preparation, ongoing grant management, academic presentations and publications. Interested applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree; have a background in biological sciences, neuroscience, psychology, physics, engineering, mathematics, or computer science; have experience with lab-based research; and experience or strong interest in working with children and adults with OCD, tic disorders, and related disorders in a research setting. Individuals with experience with statistical and computing software (e.g., MATLAB) and programming languages (e.g., Python) are especially encouraged to apply. Potential opportunities available to successful applicants include joining our multidisciplinary clinical team meetings, presentations at academic conferences; publication in major medical journals; networking among distinguished individuals within and outside the medical/psychology fields; exposure to a range of
psychiatric disorders and treatments; acquisition of in-depth clinical knowledge of target disorders; close collaboration with experienced research psychiatrists and psychologists.
Ideal start date for interested candidates is June 2026 however earlier start dates are highly encouraged. The position requires a two-year commitment.
