The Marketing and Social Media Student Assistant will support the FAS Office of Career Service’s communications strategy, building awareness about OCS and its services, as well as distributing relevant and timely career-related content. This individual must be creative, collaborative, and detail-oriented to support the needs of the office.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Write, edit, and publish content for social media (Instagram) and web
- Manage editorial calendar and schedule posts and campaigns
- Benchmark and monitor other social channels at Harvard and in career services
- Identify and communicate student perspectives with OCS staff
- Brainstorm and implement new ways to include student voices
- Attend major OCS in-person events to organize and execute event-related social media
- Analyze social media activity to identify new opportunities
- Stay current with social media trends, tools and applications
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Experience with Instagram, Sprout Social, and video editing tools preferred
- Must be able to work in a team and implement feedback
- Must be able to work independently within given parameters
- Must be able to work mostly in-person; some project-specific remote work may be possible
Note: this position requires a 4-8 hour commitment per week.
