DockYard is hiring a Computational Fluid Dynamics Engineer to work on a high value R&D project. This role will report directly to the Director of Research & Development at DockYard.

The Role
In this role you will be tasked with working on an R&D project for product development. You will be interacting with a small technical team including software, machine learning and hardware engineers. The ideal candidate is a self-starter and independent engineer who enjoys solving novel and complex problems. You will not only be developing computational models, but will also be validating them through testing.
Responsibilities
- Creating computer models to test design concepts and simulate performance before they are deployed in field experiments
- Analyzing data to identify risks and opportunities for improvement
- Examining and testing prototypes to ensure that they meet design specifications
- Preparing reports and presentations on findings and recommendations
Must Haves
- Masters degree or PhD candidate with focus in fluid dynamics
- Academic or professional background in boundary layer physics
- Experience with Navier-Stokes equations and/or the Lattice Boltzmann method to develop fluid simulation calculations
- Located in the New England region to be present for validation of modeling
Nice to Haves
- Experience with the Elixir programming language
