Job Summary
The Department of Population Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute is currently seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow. The postdoctoral fellow will work directly with Dr. Brittany Charlton and her team on NIH-funded research, specifically the final year of a project aimed at elucidating obstetrical and perinatal health disparities affecting sexual minorities and their offspring. This research leverages data from Harvard longitudinal cohort studies, including the Nurses’ Health Study and Growing Up Today Study.
The fellow will also have the opportunity to conduct research using the Department of Population Medicine’s unique data systems and linkages with health systems (e.g., administrative claims data and electronic health records). The postdoctoral fellow will be responsible for research activities, including developing analytical proposals, conducting data analysis, presenting at scientific meetings, and writing manuscripts. Applicants should have the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. The fellow will be employed by the Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute and be appointed at Harvard Medical School.

Job Description
• Analyze large, complex data from multiple sources, including survey data.
• Make effective presentations of the analysis results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Prepare articles for peer-reviewed publications, as well as reports and presentations.
• Participate in team meetings to help shape the direction of the existing research projects.
• Develop new research ideas or help prepare proposals.
• Other duties and projects as assigned. Job
Requirements
• Doctoral degree, such as a PhD, MD, or equivalent in epidemiology, biostatistics, or related fields.
• Quantitative analytical skills and experience analyzing large data sets.
• Proficiency in at least one statistical programming language (SAS, STATA, R).
• At least one first-author publication.
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Track record of, or strong potential for, independent funding.
