Marshall Wace Technical Workshop

Please register for this event by 11:59pm ET on Thursday, October 8.

“In this hands-on workshop, Marshall Wace engineers present a real problem we’ve faced and a technology we used to help solve it. After an introduction to the problem, requirements, and scope, participants will break out into small groups with the goal of designing a system that solves the now well-defined problem.

Groups will work closely with MW engineers to iterate on their design and think through unforeseen constraints and issues. At the end, each group will sit down with a different engineer to explain their solution, major design decisions, and usage of the technology. They will also receive questions and feedback. The MW engineers will select a winning team who will receive exclusive merchandise.

Participants will get to practice system design on a real-world problem and work closely with engineers to architect a robust solution leveraging a new technology.

Workshop Examples:
– Real time monitoring portfolios for risk limit breaches (Kafka)
– Building a data pipeline framework that orchestrates hundreds of data sources (Airflow)
– Capturing live market data and computing metrics (KDB)”
