Derek Bok Center for Teaching and Learning: Teaching and the Academic Job Market

GSAS PhD Students:

“Led by Chloe Chapin

In this accelerated 3-week seminar, participants will assemble all of the materials needed for a teaching portfolio, including a teaching statement, evidence of teaching effectiveness, and sample syllabus. It will also provide you with the opportunity to reflect and receive feedback on your teaching, whether or not you are preparing to go on the academic job market. In the creation of teaching portfolios, we will review backward design methods that will align your teaching interests with setting clear learning objectives and engaging students through the design of assignments and activities. Participants must be experienced TFs (with at least one semester of teaching) and come with a course design project in mind. “
