The University of Queensland Virtual Open House -- Explore Doctor of Medicine Program

“Join us online for our Virtual Open House and discover how you can study medicine in two countries at a world top 50 university.

On December 7, 2023 – 3-4:30pm (CST) we’ll be opening our doors so you can explore our unique Doctor of Medicine program — it’s your opportunity to find out everything you need to start your career in medicine.

What to expect

Attendees will be able to ask staff questions at our enrollment booth, talk one-on-one with current UQ-Ochsner medical students about their experiences and join live presentations from academics and alumni.

Event program

3:00-3:25pm – Follow your passion for medicine

Join Professor Ronald Amedee, Head of the UQ-Ochsner Clinical School and Dr Tamika Webb-Detiege, Deputy Head (Admissions and Enrollment) and discover how UQ and Ochsner have worked together to train future doctors driven to be global leaders in healthcare. From early patient contact in Brisbane, Australia to hands-on clinical practice in New Orleans.

3:25-3:45pm – Chat with current students and staff

Student ambassadors and staff will be available to meet with you one-on-one.

3:45-4:05pm – Practicing medicine from coast to coast

We have put together an exciting panel of alumni who are now practising medicine across the United States. Hear their journey and insights into life after medical school.

4:10-4:30pm – Chat with current students and staff
