Discover Summer Research

What if your summer could be more than just a break—it could be a breakthrough?

Each year, hundreds of undergraduates dive into research through Harvard’s Summer Undergraduate Research Village (HSURV) Programs, exploring everything from cancer immunotherapy using engineered bacteria to AI-powered ankle exoskeletons that help people walk more easily. Some investigate gender bias in LLMs like ChatGPT, while others use museum curation and Afro-futurist fashion to explore cultural continuity.

These projects allow students to engage in innovative, interdisciplinary, and impactful experiences. Whether your interests lie in neuroscience, data science, education, climate, or the arts, there’s a place for you in research. And you don’t need to be an expert to start—just curious, committed, and ready to learn.

Want to learn more? Luckily the Undergraduate Research and Fellowship (URAF) office is offering a new RESEARCH 101 workshop series this fall. Enroll today for upcoming events including topics on how to draft effective cold emails and navigating summer applications.
