As we step into March, you may be considering how you can be part of the global effort to advance gender parity. That’s because this month is internationally-recognized as Gender Equality Month, during which time people everywhere are encouraged to reflect on the ways gender bias impacts the lives of women.

Did you know that women on average have just 75% the same rights as men? This unfortunate reality is the result of systemic issues, discriminatory laws, and archaic views on gender roles that have long prevented women from enjoying equal rights.

If you’d like to do your part to champion women’s equality (and are currently job searching), we have a few suggestions—11, to be exact! Here’s our round-up of social-impact organizations that support women and girls and have recently posted open roles on Idealist.

1. Women’s Funding Network, San Francisco, CA

Women’s Funding Network is the largest philanthropic alliance in the world dedicated to investing in women’s foundations and supporting gender justice funders, with the goal of championing gender equality globally. They are hiring a Senior Manager, Strategic Philanthropy.

2. Community Voices Heard, New York, NY

This nonprofit is a member-led organization comprised of women of color and low-income families in New York State. They are seeking a Director to lead their initiative Follow Black Women, which will center the issues and experiences of Black women with the goal of developing a Black Women’s policy agenda.

3. WomenHeart, Remote

Since 1999, WomenHeart: The National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease has been the nation’s only patient-centered organization solely devoted advancing women’s heart health through patient support, community education, and advocacy. They are currently hiring an Executive Coordinator & Board Liaison for a remote position.

4. VOW for Girls, Inc., Remote

With the knowledge that more than 12 million girls are at risk of child marriage this year alone, VOW for Girls supports underfunded community programs to help girls stay in school, avoid child marriage, and thrive. This nonprofit is hiring a Director of Partnerships & Celebration Giving.

5. Women for Afghan Women, Remote

This grassroots organization is dedicated to securing and protecting the rights of Afghan women. In particular, Women for Afghan Women works with women, girls, and families to help them develop their individual potential and be represented in all areas of life. They are hiring a Grant Coordinator for a remote position.

6. National Network to End Domestic Violence, Washington, DC

This social change organization is dedicated to creating a world where domestic violence no longer exists. Through effective policy changes, training, funding, and education, the National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV) seeks to increase awareness and prevention of domestic and sexual violence. They are hiring for two roles based out of Washington, DC: Finance Administrative Specialist and Women’s Law Coordinator.

7. Women In Film Los Angeles, Los Angeles, CA

Women In Film Los Angeles supports women and people of marginalized genders in front of and behind the camera, and across all levels of experience, through research, education, and media campaigns. This nonprofit is hiring for a Senior Events Manager and Director of Operations.

8. Women’s Center, Marquette, MI

This nonprofit seeks to uplift women and past or present abuse survivors through ​​free and confidential support services. They are currently hiring an Executive Director.

9. Women’s Learning Partnership for Rights, Development, and Peace (WLP), Bethesda, MD

This nonprofit is a partnership of 20 autonomous organizations that trains and supports grassroots women’s organizations to advance gender equality across the globe. They are hiring an Administrative Associate for Events and Operations.

10. Women’s Law Project, Philadelphia, PA

The Women’s Law Project works to defend and advance the rights of women, girls, and LGBTQ+ people in Pennsylvania and beyond. They are currently seeking a Development and Administrative Assistant.

11. Kakenya’s Dream, ​Arlington, VA

Based in Arlington, Virginia, this nonprofit seeks to empower young African girls and bring an end to harmful practices like female genital mutilation (FGM) and early forced marriage. Kakenya’s Dream is hiring for two open roles: Director of Marketing and Communications and Director of Development.
