Mark Runge ALM, Management

Where will you be living next year, and what will you be doing?
Queensland, Australia – I am using my degree to take a strategic direction with my work – offering technical advice that is supported by a long term sustainable competitive view.

What advice do you have for Harvard HES students, now that you have graduated?
Study hard, read everything – even the optional stuff, ask lots of questions and get involved in class, and – once the world has settled down a little – set aside time to get to Summer School. HES has been a great experience and the flexibility with quality of education has been amazing. It is a big commitment but putting effort into it is rewarding for your career and your understanding of who you are. Best of luck!

In what ways has your Harvard Extension degree impacted your career?
I am now more strategic in my thinking and aware that leadership does not necessarily follow a “manager” pathway.
