Brandon Edwards, ALM Liberal Arts

Where will you be living next year, and what will you be doing?
Nashville, TN – Having finished my ALM in Religion in May, I have just been accepted to pursue a Doctorate of Philosophy in History at the University of Aberdeen (Scotland) to study and research the impact of 19th century Scottish Liberalism on the Restoration Religious movement in the USA. Without HES, I would not have this incredible opportunity!

What advice do you have for Harvard HES students, now that you have graduated?
Never forget what an honor it is to study – not just at Harvard, but to study on the whole. To seek wisdom, to further your understanding, is a true and incredible honor. Get involved – I was blessed to be able to serve as a Harvard Global Ambassador and I highly recommend seeking leadership opportunities while studying at HES. It will change your life and inspire you to greater things!

In what ways has your Harvard Extension degree impacted your career?
Harvard has opened doors in many ways – none more than to the furthering of my education by opening doors at both Cambridge University (UK) and the University of Aberdeen. It has also given me incredible confidence as both a person and a student and I am eternally grateful for all the opportunities ahead of me because of the path laid open by HES.
